What is Synthetic Urine?

Ever wonder: What is synthetic urine? Here’s everything you need to know.

Despite cannabis becoming legal in more and more states, many companies still choose to drug test their employees, and regular weed smokers remain unsafe. Urine tests are the common form of testing, and outside of hair tests, prove to be the most troublesome for weed smokers. For those who are in pursuit of their dream job, but don’t want to give up the dream plant, there’s always one option: synthetic urine. What is synthetic urine, you ask? Here’s everything you need to know.

What is Synthetic Urine?

With over 50% of drug tests coming up positive for weed, passing a drug test for cannabis smokers is far from a sure thing. If you are a regular smoker, THC will appear in your urine for at least thirty days. If you’re a light smoker, it won’t be detectable for as long, but there’s still a chance of it showing up.

In fact, if you’re a regular weed smoker, cannabis can stay in your system for more than 67 days. You can drink all the water you’d like leading up to a drug test, but that’s a risky technique.

Naturally, synthetic urine was created to avoid such mishaps. Of course, there are still risks involved, but in certain scenarios, the pros can outweigh the cons. Synthetic urine, also known as “laboratory urine,” or simply “fake pee,” can be either purchased from a store or homemade.

Typically, there are a lot of factors involved in making it look like authentic urine. Temperature, color, and PH levels are all integral in ensuring your fake pee looks legit.

Some of the ingredients in fake urine include the following:

  • Distilled Water
  • Urea
  • Creatinine
  • Potassium chloride
  • Sodium phosphate
  • Sodium chloride
  • Albumin powder

For synthetic urine to properly work, it’s going to need to be between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, it’s going to have to have a normal pH around 4.8 and 8.

Next time somebody asks, what is fake urine, remember that the best synthetic urine typically smells like actual urine, and foams naturally—just like the real stuff!

How to Make Synthetic Urine

What is Synthetic Urine?

If you’ve wondered, what is synthetic urine, odds are you’ve also wondered how to make it. Here’s what you need to make fake pee at home:

  • Storage bottle
  • Container for mixing
  • pH meter or indicator paper to ensure proper pH levels
  • Urinometer

For a liter of synthetic urine, pour 3/4 of a liter of distilled water into your container. Then, add 18.2 grams of urea. Stir the mixture until all of the crystals are dissolved.

Next, add 4.5 grams of potassium chloride, 4.8 grams of sodium phosphate, and 7.5 grams of sodium chloride, and mix well. The next step is to check the pH balance with either your pH meter or indicator paper.

Make sure the fake pee contains a pH level between 4.8 and 8. If you have the urinometer, make sure to check the gravity as well. That should be somewhere between 1.015 and 1.025.

Now, you are free to refrigerate or freeze the substance until you need it. If you choose to freeze it, it can last for several months. When you need to use it, make sure you heat it up to the proper temperature (again, between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit).

After heating it, add two grams of creatinine and 50 mg of the albumin powder. Now, just bottle it in a safe storage container, and you’re ready to rock.

If you are planning on making your own fake urine, you’re going to have to plan ahead. Most of the items required are rather obscure, so you would typically need to order them online.

But if you wanted to buy your own synthetic urine, there’s plenty of brands to choose from. Some optimal providers of fake pee are Monkey Whizz from Serious Monkey Bizzness, Quick Fix, and the Sub-Solution powdered urine kit.

Final Hit: What is Synthetic Urine?

Keep in mind, although the synthetic urine route is ideal when done correctly, it could be a disaster if not executed properly. In the United States, it is technically illegal to use a fake urine sample when taking a urine drug test.

Find out beforehand you are not going to be monitored during your drug test. Sometimes, testers will stand a mere few feet away to ensure against tampering. To be safe, always smuggle fake urine in a discreet way.

Tape it to your thigh, stick in in your bra, or even wear an extra pair of underwear so you can put it in between pairs. You can also purchase a synthetic pee belt, where you can store the urine and discreetly pour out, creating the illusion of actual peeing.

This is especially good if the test is, in fact, supervised. Whatever method you use, just make sure you do it to perfection. If everything is done correctly, you can conceivably land that dream job without having to give up the thing you love the most. It’s a win-win.
