Cannabis Muffin Recipes Are Perfect For Your Wake And Bake

What could be better than starting your day with a fresh-baked muffin? How about a cannabis muffin that is packed full of weed, that’s what. If you like to eat, and if you like to get high, then cannabis muffins are about to become your next favorite thing.

Cannabis muffins are especially great if you like to wake and bake. So whip up a batch of weed muffins and get your day started right. Here’s how.

Getting Started

Wake and Bake with Cannabis Muffins

The key to baking edibles is to start out with a good cannabis-infused base. Since THC binds to fat, this base is going to be butter or some sort of oil.

For the recipes we’re about to share, you should have a batch of cannabutter or cannabis-infused coconut oil already made and ready to go.

Fortunately, it is fairly easy to make both of these cannabis-infused bases. The process involves using heat to decarboxylate — or activate — the THC.

From there, it is all about simmering the cannabis with your butter or oil at a low temperature until all the cannabinoids have been pulled out of the herb and absorbed into the butter or oil.

Once you have a batch of cannabutter or cannabis-infused coconut oil, you are ready to make cannabis muffins. We’ll give you two recipes. One includes cannabutter, the other cannabis coconut oil. Make them both and see which one you like better.

Our recipes will also direct you to use certain spices, fruits, and toppings. But feel free to experiment.

If you want a slightly different taste, or if you want to add nuts or a different type of fruit, go ahead and use our recipes as a base. Feel free to add your toppings and mix-ins to the batter before baking.

Apple Cinnamon Muffins With Cannabutter

Wake and Bake with Cannabis Muffins

Ingredients

– 1 1/2 cups flour
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– Pinch of ground cloves
– 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
– One egg, beaten
– 1/2 cup milk
– One Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and diced
– Between 1/3 and 3/4 cup cannabutter, melted

Note: The amount of cannabutter you use depends on how potent you want your muffins.

Make Your Muffins

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Then start by mixing your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and spices). In a separate bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, and cannabutter.

Next, add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix. After that, carefully fold in your chunks of apple. Do not overmix the batter. Stir it all together until just moist, and the apples have been evenly incorporated.

Spoon the batter into paper-lined muffin tins and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, make your topping.

To make the topping, combine three tablespoons of sugar with 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. When the muffins have finished baking, brush the tops with a little bit of melted cannabutter.

Turn the muffins upside down and dip them into the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Let cool and enjoy.

Banana Muffins With Cannabis Coconut Oil

Wake and Bake with Cannabis Muffins

Ingredients

– Between 1/4 and 1/2 cup cannabis-infused coconut oil, melted

Note: The amount of cannabis coconut oil you use depends on how potent you want your final product.

– 1/2 cup honey
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 cup smashed bananas
– 1/4 cup almond milk
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 1/2 cup oats
Optional: A dash of coarse sugar for sprinkling on top of muffins

Make Your Muffins

Get your oven preheated to 325 degrees. Then start by mixing together the cannabis coconut oil and honey. Next, add the eggs and beat the entire mixture well.

From there, put the smashed bananas and milk into the mix. Give it a stir and add the baking soda, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

At this point, you should have a loose, wet mixture. Now it is time to add the flour and oats. Mix all the ingredients until everything is moist and fully incorporated. Be careful that you do not overmix it.

Spoon the batter into paper-lined muffin tins. From here you can either pop them straight into the oven, or you can sprinkle some additional oats and a dash of coarse sugar over the tops of the muffins.

Bake them for 25 minutes. Let them cool enough that you can cleanly remove them from the muffin papers. Enjoy.
