Weed Etiquette 101: How To Corner A Bowl

Corner a bowl like a pro

Any social activity comes with its own set of rules and expectations. A code of etiquette to be sure everyone benefits. And smoking weed isn’t any different. When you smoke out of a bowl, the proper weed smoking etiquette is to use a technique called “cornering.” Here’s why cornering is so important, and how you can corner a bowl like a pro.

For Starters: Why Cornering Is Important

When you smoke out of a bowl, the best, purest, most enjoyable puffs are the ones where you’re sparking pure green.

Anything else and you’re smoking a combo of previously burned weed and fresh weed. And that’s not quite as nice as wide open fields of green.

When you’re taking turns with others, it’s important that everyone has a fair shot at some of those nice, all-green hits. And that’s where cornering comes in.

When you corner properly, you’ll give yourself a nice hit while still saving plenty of green for everyone else. Share and share alike. Cornering is how you do it.

What To Avoid

The biggest thing you need to avoid is sparking too much green at one time. This happens when you haphazardly put the flame to the very top of the bowl.

When you do this, you end up burning way too much real estate at once. A sloppy spark doesn’t follow any pattern. It just burns whatever happens to be in the way.

This scorched earth approach to smoking makes it hard for you or anybody else to get any all-green hits. So don’t put your flame down willy-nilly. Give your smoking game a little finesse by cornering the bowl.
