Girl Scout Sells Cookies Outside Dispensary: “Satisfy Your Munchies”

Girl Scout

Marijuana culture may have just witnessed the first business move by the world’s youngest, up-and-coming cannabis entrepreneur. A girl scout in Portland, Oregon set up her table for selling Girl Scout cookies in front of the Foster Buds Marijuana Dispensary over the weekend.

She hung a sign on her table that said: “Satisfy your munchies.” Apparently her approach worked. The girl’s aunt was helping her sell the snacks, and according to local news sources, the girl far outdid her original goal of selling 35 boxes. She said the money she makes selling cookies will help her pay for horse camp this summer.

Leaders in the Girl Scouts organization said that although they don’t really support the girl’s marketing tactic, she didn’t actually break any rules.

Surprisingly, Girl Scout Cookies and cannabis culture actually have something of a history together. The cookies have acquired the reputation of being particularly tasty remedies for a bad case of the munchies. So much so, in fact, that cannabis engineers have named certain hybrid strains after the famous little snacks.

The Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) or cookies strain, for example, is an indica-dominant hybrid that has been described as having an “earthy, fruity, and cotton candy flavor.”

On average, GSC bud has somewhere between 18 and 23 percent THC. The strain typically gives users a strong body high that can make people feel lethargic, but it can also produce feelings of creative stimulation as well.

Then there’s “Platinum Girl Scout Cookies,” the next step in the evolution of the Girl Scout Cookies-cannabis relationship.

This strain is also indica-dominant, and the folks at Wikileaf describe Platinum Girl Scout Cookies as having “an interesting blend of earthy spiciness with hints of sweetness and berry undertones.”

It’s known for producing highly pleasurable feelings of euphoria and often gives smokers a nice mellow relaxation.

For pot enthusiasts looking to satisfy the post-smoke munchies, actual Girl Scout Cookies—like the ones sold by Portland’s newest and youngest cannapreneur—could be a deliciously effective choice. For some additional munchies motivation and inspiration, you might also want to take a look at the absolutely ridiculous burger—complete with 1,050 strips of bacon—ordered by Japanese food reporter Mr. Sato.
