What Happened?

The $1M in weed seized from a house in the Atlanta metro area came from a house on Chestnut Lane in the Stockbridge area of Henry County.

The Drug Enforcement Agency apparently tipped off a local task force about the potential operation going on in the house. Then, officers with the Flint Circuit Drug Task Force were sent in to search the home.

They found many bundles of cannabis, each of which weighed between 30 and 50 pounds. Other than the cannabis no other drugs were found.

The only other thing in the house was a mattress. Officer Chad Rosborough of the Flint Circuit Task Force believes someone would stay in the house for a night or two and then move on.

“I don’t think anyone was expecting to find that much marijuana,” Officer Rosborough told sources.

So far the police have taken one man into custody but judging by the amount of weed they found there are more suspects on the loose.

“We got some leads,” Rosborough said. The officers will continue to seek out the source of the bundles and their final destination.

Crackdown On The Atlanta Metro Area

This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen large amounts of cannabis seized in Atlanta. In a separate incident, a suburban Atlanta man was busted after a neighbor tipped off the police.

The officers discovered an entire grow operation in the basement of a man’s house. Several other major drug busts have been made in the Atlanta metro area this year.

An Atlanta gang that focused primarily on pushing deadly drugs like heroin, methamphetamines and more were put in prison earlier this year.

In April, another 18 people were arrested during a months-long investigation of a methamphetamine trafficking ring in metro Atlanta, according to officials.

Apparently, meth is hot in metro Atlanta because five men were put in jail after a meth lab worth $1 million was uncovered back in June.

With the area’s Drug Task force receiving assistance from the DEA, it’s not a good time to be a drug dealer in metro-Atlanta.
